Restoring the Balance

Welcome To Inglenook Counseling

An inglenook is traditionally a sheltered space by an open fire with chairs to rest and warm oneself from the harshness of the world. Now it is more common to see an inglenook in a cozy corner with a couple of chairs nestled by the fireplace. A perfect place to settle in and have a nice chat about life, the universe, and everything in it. Here at Inglenook Counseling we hope to bring just that kind of feeling into the therapy room.

What I do

I like helping people find their balance point. I find joy in helping people who feel broken, restore those cracks and chips, to build a strong and beautiful finish. I enjoy helping in a variety of ways, from newlyweds navigating the, sometimes, choppy waters of sex, to men and women finding pieces of their difficult childhoods affecting life now. I also love helping people who struggle with anxiety and general relationship struggles. I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life and welcome all ethnicities, sexualities, and spiritual beliefs. Regardless of where you are, I try to cultivate a cozy space to figure out where you want to be.

I use a lot of different tools to accomplish this. Mostly we talk. Well, you talk; I listen. Sometimes, however, we’ll color, or role-play, or read, or do some brainspotting, or maybe it will be something entirely new. Every person is unique, and your story and brain is uniquely yours. Which means your therapy with me will be tailored as best as possible to be unique for you.

I’d love to sit down with you over a cup of tea or coffee in my office and hear your story. Contact me to schedule something today.

FAQ

What Can I expect from therapy with you?

Great question. Therapy can be a really scary thing to think about. But I try to make it as comfortable as possible. Our first session will be getting to know one another, laying the foundation for your story, and paperwork. Our first 3-4 sessions will be getting to know the issue a little better and coming up with a game plan for how to get you where you want to be.

Do you work on “this” day?

I have office hours Wednesday through Saturday. Yes, I do offer Saturdays!

How long is a session?

Sessions last around 50 minutes.

How much does it cost?

My cost is $125 per session hour. I do offer a sliding scale for and I try to have a limited number of scholarship slots available.

Any other questions?

Like I said, therapy can feel overwhelming sometimes. I’d be happy to answer any further questions. Drop me a line at a.zellmer@inglenookcounseling.com
